Marcelo Bielsa to remain at Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that he will continue as the club's manager despite reports that he had voluntarily left the club.

The 56-year-old's position with Bilbao had been called into question after an altercation with the club's board of directors, but he has insisted that he will remain with the Spanish outfit.

"I will further continue my work as usual. The sporting director will resolve the situation. I can assure that I will remain fully committed to the club," Bielsa said on his Facebook page.

"I have analysed and discussed the content of the club's statement. I can accept that the club disagree with me, but not if it's beside the truth. What has happened will change our relationship."

Bilbao reached the finals of the Europa League and Copa del Rey last season.
