Reports in Spain have suggested that Marcelo Bielsa has stepped down from his position as coach of Athletic Bilbao.

The 56-year-old took over at the club last summer and guided them to the Europa League and Copa del Rey finals.

However, they were eventually defeated in both matches by Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

He is now believed to have walked out after a dispute over the club's training facilities.

Bielsa recently criticised the construction company who were working on the site after they had failed to meet the agreed pre-season deadline.

Despite Bilbao playing down the comments, it would appear that the incident has not ended amicably.
