Ron Vlaar wanted by Napoli?

Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar is reportedly a January transfer target of Serie A giants Napoli.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and will be free to talk to foreign clubs about a move from the start of next month.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Rafael Benitez has requested a move for Vlaar and he recently sent director of sport Riccardo Bigon to watch the player.

Netherlands international Vlaar, who joined Villa in 2012 from Feyenoord, has been heavily linked with Manchester United.
