Aston Villa are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for a French teenager who has been dubbed a 'talent for the future'.

Aston Villa are reportedly considering whether to make an approach for a teenage forward from Le Havre.

The West Midlands outfit are currently focused on trying to secure a top-five finish in the Premier League table, something that is required to earn a second successive campaign in the Champions League.

However, despite revenue generated from their quarter-final appearance in 2024-25 and through the sale of Jhon Duran, it has been suggested that Villa are still not in an ideal position with regards to the financial regulations.

As such, Unai Emery and the club's recruitment team may have to get creative in the transfer market, as well as considering promoting some of the talent that have just lifted the FA Youth Cup.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who was commenting on X, Villa are taking an interest in one of French football's top prospects.

Who is Kenny Quetant?

At a time when Le Havre are scrapping to retain their status in Ligue 1, it appears that they have a battle on their hands to retain the services of Kenny Quetant.

Although the 18-year-old is yet to make his senior debut, he has contributed 11 goals and two assists from 29 appearances for the Under-19 side.

He has also made an outing for the 'B' side, the next target currently viewed as breaking into Didier Digard's squad for first-team matches.

Nevertheless, Villa seemingly view Quetant as a 'talent for the future' and discussions are said to be ongoing regarding a potential deal.

While the suggestion is that Quetant would initially become part of Villa's academy setup, there is seemingly a view of developing him into a senior player.

How could Villa's striking options look next season?

Villa are currently deliberating over whether to activate their £40m buy option for Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.

Furthermore, speculation persists that offers could be considered for top goalscorer Ollie Watkins, with Villa potentially having to facilitate a big-money sale to strengthen other areas of the team.

Donyell Malen is viewed as a valuable versatile option, while Scotland Under-21 international Rory Wilson is someone who is more likely to be loaned out next season than promoted to Emery's squad despite nine goals and three assists from 29 Under-21 matches.

Quetant could effectively take the place of Wilson if he is loaned out, as well as providing cover for the more experienced players in the attacking ranks.
