Aston Villa complete deal for Ron Vlaar

Aston Villa have confirmed that they have completed a deal to sign Dutch international defender Ron Vlaar.

The 27-year-old joins Villa from Feyenoord on a three-year contract for a fee in the region of £4m.

Vlaar, an experienced centre-back with nine international caps for Holland, is Paul Lambert's second signing from Feyenoord this summer, following Karim El Ahmadi to Villa Park.

Villa fans could get an opportunity to see Vlaar in action very quickly as he is expected to go straight into the squad for Wednesday's friendly with Peterborough United.
