Scott Sinclair has revealed that he has a "hunger to play football" after joining Aston Villa on loan from Manchester City for the rest of the season.
The winger joined the Premier League champions in 2012, but has struggled for playing time, making just three league appearances so far this season.
The 25-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "It is hard to give someone advice about what you've been through, but now if I had the chance, if I was playing week in week out and was happy, then I would probably think twice about going back to a top-four club.
"A few years ago I was thinking 'I am making this jump and I want to play Champions League'. Everyone wants to play Champions League football and win trophies and be up there.
"Sometimes it doesn't always go to plan and that's what you've got to realise as a football player. I've gone through a hell of a lot and I'm still here and still wanting to prove myself. I've still got that hunger to play football."
Sinclair made his Villa debut in the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.
