Cameroon midfielder Makoun's work permit problems continue

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted that he does not know whether midfielder Jean Makoun will play for the club this season.

The Cameroon international has been beset by work permit problems, which have prevented him from training since Lambert's arrival.

Lambert told the Birmingham Mail: "He has not been here since I've been here so we'll have to wait on that.

"Will he be part of my plans? I haven't seen him yet. We will have to wait and see."

Aston Villa signed Makoun from Lyon last year for £5m.
