Radamel Falcao pleased to end Champions League drought

Radamel Falcao reveals his delight after ending a six-year Champions League scoring drought during AS Monaco's 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow.

Radamel Falcao has revealed his delight after ending a six-year Champions League scoring drought during AS Monaco's 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night.

Falcao netted twice in the first period of the Group E clash, with the victory ensuring that Monaco remained top of the section with two group matches left.

The Colombian's last Champions League goals came for Porto in February 2010, and the 30-year-old is now targeting a strong run in the competition.

"We're very happy with the victory and we'll try to defend first place. I've never played in the Champions League for Monaco. They were my first two goals with Monaco and it was a good win for the team," Falcao told reporters.

"I hope to score more for my team. The most important thing is that Monaco achieve their objectives. I feel good physically at the moment, I played 70 minutes at a good rhythm. I hope to continue on Saturday."

Falcao, who has now netted four times for his Ligue 1 team this term, returned to Monaco in the summer after unhappy loan spells with Manchester United and Chelsea.
