Report: Arsenal begin talks to sign Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin

Arsenal are believed to have upped their pursuit of Morgan Schneiderlin by reportedly opening talks with Southampton.

Arsenal have reportedly opened discussions with Southampton regarding the potential capture of midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Gunners have been linked with the France international for some time, but it is believed that the club have upped their pursuit of the midfielder.

Arsenal were widely reported to have agreed a £20m fee with Real Madrid for Sami Khedira, but it is believed that interest from North London has cooled due to the German World Cup winner's wage demands.

According to Goal.com, Arsenal and Southampton are in preliminary talks regarding Schneiderlin, who has been valued by the Gunners at £15m, but the Saints want around £18m for the midfielder.

Southampton have already sold Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana this summer.
