Zinchenko transfer latest: Arsenal 'reach agreement' with Turkish giants over defender's departure

Fenerbahce have reportedly reached a broad agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Ukraine international Zinchenko experienced a difficult 2024-25 season, settling for just eight starts in 23 appearances across all competitions.

The 28-year-old ultimately finds himself behind Jakub Kiwior and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the battle for the Arsenal left-back spot.

There is a strong possibility that Zinchenko could leave Arsenal this summer, especially as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract.

A recent report claimed that Fenerbahce were one of three European teams interested in his signature, along with Porto and Real Betis.

Fenerbahce agree Zinchenko deal

According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Fenerbahce have made progress in their pursuit by reaching a 'major agreement' with Arsenal over a transfer.

Fenerbahce sporting director Devin Ozek allegedly recently travelled to London to hold discussions with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.

The two clubs have come to a broad agreement after negotiations were kick-started by Fenerbahce's €10m (£8.6m) offer for Zinchenko. 

Fenerbahce are still waiting to get the deal over the line, with Porto threatening to hijack their move for the Arsenal man. 

The Portuguese giants have made contact with Arsenal and Zinchenko, although they are yet to step up their interest with an official offer.

Fenerbahce relying on Mourinho factor

Fenerbahce still appear to be confident that they can win the race to sign the versatile player, who can play as a left-back or as a central midfielder.

The Turkish giants hope that the influence of their manager Jose Mourinho can help convince Zinchenko to join the Yellow Canaries before the summer transfer deadline.

There is a belief that Zinchenko could complete a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce in the 'coming days'.
