Arsenal raise bid for Phil Jagielka

Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Phil Jagielka with a new bid for the Everton defender.

The Gunners had a bid of £10m rejected for the England international last week but are believed to have come back with an offer of around £15m, according to the Telegraph.

While Toffees manager David Moyes is thought to be reluctant to sell the 28-year-old, the Scot needs to raise funds should he want to strengthen his squad.

Arsenal had a previous bid of £12m rejected last summer.
