Arsenal open talks with Birmingham for defender Scott Dann

Birmingham have agreed to begin talks with Arsenal over the potential departure of Scott Dann to the Emirates.

The centre-back has been linked with a move away from St Andrews since the club were relegated to the Championship last season.

Despite the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa expressing interest in the 24-year-old, the Gunners look close to clinching the player’s signature, according to Sky Sports News.

Dann moved to Birmingham for £3.5m from Coventry City in 2009.
