How Arsenal could line up against Crystal Palace

Sports Mole looks at how top-four hopefuls Arsenal could line up during Sunday's London derby with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal could take another step towards securing a top-four finish when they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners still have two routes into next season's Champions League after confirming their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League in midweek, and a top-four spot remains in their own hands.

However, only goal difference separates Unai Emery's side from fifth-placed Chelsea with five games of their season remaining, and any slip-ups at this stage of the campaign could prove fatal.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's London derby.

Possible ARS XI vs. CRY

Out: Sokratis Papastathopoulos (suspended), Hector Bellerin (knee), Rob Holding (knee), Danny Welbeck (ankle)
Doubtful: Denis Suarez (groin), Aaron Ramsey (hamstring)

Arsenal will be forced into at least two changes from the midweek win over Napoli, with Sokratis suspended by virtue of collecting 10 yellow cards and Aaron Ramsey likely to be sidelined for a few weeks with the hamstring injury he sustained in Naples.

Emery is hopeful that Ramsey has not played his final game for the club, but his absence opens the door for either Mesut Ozil or Henrikh Mkhitaryan to stake their claim for a starting place.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette could both lead the line once again, and changes other than the two enforced ones could be minimal.

Shkodran Mustafi is the most likely candidate to replace Sokratis, while Bernd Leno will return in goal after Petr Cech came in for the Europa League campaign.

Matteo Guendouzi and Alex Iwobi are among the players available to return should Emery decide to rotate more drastically, which could be the case considering they face a difficult visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
