Arsene Wenger applauds Arsenal's fighting spirit in Crystal Palace win

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger credits his team for "fighting" their way to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Arsene Wenger has praised his Arsenal team for the fighting spirit that they showed in their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace this afternoon.

The Gunners led 2-0 at the break, but a late goal from Glenn Murray made for a nervy finish at Selhurst Park.

However, Arsenal held on to secure all three points and Wenger has credited his side for the concentration that they showed in the second half.

"It was about fighting for the win," the 65-year-old told BBC Sport.

"Crystal Palace made it a really tough game and we had to dig deep on a difficult pitch against a good team so I'm very happy with the win.

"Palace gave everything they had. It was like a cup game. They closed us down and stopped us playing."

The win has moved Arsenal up to third in the Premier League table.
