Arsene Wenger: Marouana Chamakh will not be sold in January

Wenger: Chamakh is staying put

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh will remain at the Emirates.

The Morocco international has failed to cement a place in the Frenchman's starting lineup, and rumours circulated that the 27-year-old was seeking a move away from the Gunners.

"Marouane is not going anywhere. There is not a problem with Chamakh," said Wenger.

"He is fighting for the position with Robin van Persie who is in great form at the moment. He will get his chance, we have so many games."

The frontman, who has not started a game for Arsenal this season, signed for the North London outfit from Bordeaux last summer.
