Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny backs his side to beat Manchester City this weekend and points to the club's strong home record against Roberto Mancini's side as evidence.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has insisted that his side are confident of picking up all three points against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Gunners go into this weekend's clash with the reigning champions on a run of five matches unbeaten in the Premier League.

Szczesny believes that Arsenal can point to their strong home record against City as a sign that they are capable of earning a win over Roberto Mancini's men.

He told the club's official website: "We have been very good against Manchester City at home over the past few years. They are one of the strongest sides in the country but I don't remember the last time we conceded against them at the Emirates.

"We will be confident and I hope we can repeat last season's performance, that should give us the result we want. We are confident going into every single game and were quite disappointed not to win at Swansea City last weekend, but the most important thing is that we haven't lost for a while now.

"We have a tough run of fixtures in January, but I believe we can do very well. When you are on a good run like we are, you look forward to every game and you're not afraid of anyone. So I think these fixtures against such strong teams come at a very good time for us."

Arsene Wenger's side sit sixth in the Premier League, four points off fourth-placed Chelsea and a Champions League qualifying spot.
