Report: Lukas Podolski set for ankle operation

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski will reportedly undergo an ankle operation at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old, who has completed the full 90 minutes just four times for the Gunners this season, has been hampered by a long-standing ankle injury in recent months.

According to Goal.com, that has prompted Arsenal's medical staff to advise that the German international has surgery when the current season is completed.

Podolski has made 39 appearances for the club this season.
