Report: Abou Diaby rejected Liverpool this summer

A report claims that French midfielder Abou Diaby rejected a move to Liverpool before joining Marseille on a free transfer this summer.

French midfielder Abou Diaby reportedly rejected the chance to join Liverpool this summer before making the move to Marseille.

The 29-year-old departed Arsenal this summer on a free transfer, having spent nine years with the Gunners.

West Bromwich Albion were one Premier League club that offered the midfielder a contract, but according to L'Equipe, Liverpool also registered an interest.

The same report claims that Diaby quickly dismissed the offer from Anfield as he signed a contract with Marseille.

Diaby played just twice for Arsenal in the last two seasons.
