Arsenal star Mesut Ozil: "I am ice cold in front of goal"

Mesut Ozil says that he is "ice cold" in front of goal this season as he aims to score more for Arsenal.

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has claimed that he is putting more focus on scoring more, insisting that he is "ice cold" in front of goal.

The German World Cup winner has become an integral member of Arsene Wenger's team since joining the Gunners from Real Madrid for £42.5m in 2013.

This season, the 28-year-old has scored seven goals, including his first ever hat-trick in the North London outfit's 6-0 romping of Razgrad Ludogorets in the Champions League last month.

"The manager wants me to score lots of goals," Ozil told Arsenal Player. "He sees in training that when I have a chance, the ball mostly goes in.

"When we train on finishing, he sees that I score lots of goals. He knows that I'm ice cold in front of goal and he wants to see that in matches.

"I'm doing that now - I go forward and, while I haven't changed my game, I'm focusing on scoring goals myself too. Every year he comes to me says, 'You need to score more than 10 goals this season - that needs to be your aim because you have the quality'. I'm trying to take that on."

Arsenal are the fourth-highest scorers in the Premier League having netted 24 goals, six fewer than leaders Liverpool.
