Carl Jenkinson to join England squad

The FA have confirmed that Carl Jenkinson will be included in the England squad to play Sweden, subject to clearance from FIFA.

Jenkinson, who has impressed with his performances at right-back for Arsenal this season, was not one of the names in the original squad released this morning.

However, the 20-year-old could win his first cap in Stockholm if he receives permission from FIFA.

Jenkinson has an English father and a Finnish mother but has represented both nations at youth level, meaning that the FA were forced to apply for international clearance.
