Arshavin: "I am glued to the bench"

Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin has hinted that he could be forced to leave the club if he does not start featuring on a regular basis.

The Russian international has found himself on the fringes at the Emirates Stadium this season, having branded his own performances "average".

As a result, the 30-year-old has been linked with a transfer, with Anzhi Makhachkala reportedly keen on helping the player return to his homeland.

However, Arshavin has ruled out a transfer to the big-spending Russian club.

"Right now I don't think about changing clubs. If I will be benched for a very long time, then such an issue might be relevant," Arshavin told Sport Express.

"I still want to play for 90 minutes, but now I am glued to the bench. I wouldn't like to play for a Russian club other than Zenit [St Petersburg], and there were no contacts with Anzhi Makhachkala."

Arshavin joined the Gunners in 2009 from Zenit.
