Arsenal looking for successive wins at Manchester United for first time in 42 years

Arsenal looking for successive wins at Man United for first time in 42 years

Arsenal will be looking to claim back-to-back Premier League away victories against Manchester United for the first time in 42 years when they lock horns at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The Gunners ended a 13-game winless league run at the Theatre of Dreams last season, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a second-half penalty to seal a slender 1-0 win against the Red Devils in November 2020.

Mikel Arteta's men are now hoping to claim all three points once again and take advantage of an out-of-form Man United outfit, who have won only four of their last 13 games across all competitions.

Victory for Arsenal on Thursday would see them secure consecutive away league triumphs at Old Trafford for the first time since February 1979.

Aubameyang is also out to make history in midweek, with the Gabonese forward aiming to become the first-ever Arsenal player to find the net in three successive away matches against Man United.

Arsenal head into Thursday's clash fifth in the Premier League table, one point behind West Ham United in fourth.
