Arsenal hold crisis meeting without Wenger?

Arsenal players have allegedly gathered for a crisis meeting behind manager Arsene Wenger's back.

Members of the Gunners squad met to discuss the team's decline on the pitch and, according to The Guardian, they expressed a lack of confidence in the club's coaching setup.

"We are a big club," an unnamed Arsenal player is quoted as saying. "But we need more help from the coaches."

In response, another said: "It's not going to happen. We need to find the answers ourselves," according to the newspaper's source.

Pressure is building on Wenger following back-to-back defeats to Manchester City, the first of which cost them the EFL Cup while the second left them 10 points outside of the Champions League positions in the Premier League table.

Stan Kroenke, the club's majority shareholder, was targeting a return to Europe's elite competition this season, and has also come under fire from sections of the Gunners' support for failing to replace Wenger.
