Arsenal await Jack Wilshere punishment review

Arsenal are waiting to hear whether or not Jack Wilshere will be hit with a punishment by the FA for his actions against Manchester City on Saturday.

The England international was caught making a middle-finger gesture to the home supporters on the Etihad Stadium at the weekend during his side's 6-3 defeat.

Wilshere could now face disciplinary action from English football's governing body following the incident, as they will fully review referee Martin Atkinson's match report before coming to a decision, although no announcement has been made yet.

Luis Suarez was slapped with a one-match ban and a £20,000 fine in December 2011 for a similar offense to home fans after Liverpool lost at Fulham.
