Arsenal and England's Danny Welbeck picks up injury with Euros on horizon

Arsenal frontman Danny Welbeck limps off with a knee injury with just over a month to go until England start their Euro 2016 campaign in France.

England manager Roy Hodgson may be left sweating on the fitness of Danny Welbeck after the Arsenal striker limped off with a knee injury during the first half of this afternoon's clash away at Manchester City.

The striker picked up the problem in the 21st minute and after initial treatment, he returned to the pitch.

However, within seconds, the 25-year-old informed the Arsenal bench that he could no longer continue and headed straight for the tunnel at the Etihad Stadium.

Depending on the severity of the complaint, Welbeck may now be a doubt for this summer's European Championships in France.

It is a potential blow for Hodgson, who on Friday also saw Welbeck's club teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury of his own.
