Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Norwich City.

Arsenal will attempt to kickstart their Premier League season at the fourth attempt in Saturday's bottom-of-the-table clash with Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's side have gleaned zero points and zero goals from their three games so far, most recently suffering a humiliating 5-0 defeat to champions Manchester City before the international break.

The Gunners find themselves rock bottom of the rankings owing to their miserable start to the new season, but newly-promoted Norwich are also travelling to North London aiming to put their first points on the board.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Thomas Partey

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Norwich City)

Thomas Partey is yet to take to the field in a competitive fixture this season after suffering an ankle injury against Chelsea in the Mind Series. However, the midfielder has now returned to training and could be in contention to play on Saturday.

Eddie Nketiah

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Norwich City)

As is the case with Partey, Eddie Nketiah's ankle injury against Chelsea has kept him out of the early stages of the campaign, but the striker has a chance of returning here.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Norwich)

In a further boost to Arsenal, Gabriel Magalhaes is also being put through his paces in training after recovering from a knee injury and should be fine to feature having played and scored in a friendly against Brentford during the international break.

Ben White

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Norwich)

Ben White did not feature against Chelsea or Man City after testing positive for coronavirus, but he lined up alongside Gabriel in last week's friendly against Brentford and is expected to be fine for the weekend.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Norwich)

Emile Smith Rowe was forced to withdraw from England's Under-21 squad due to illness - which was not COVID-related - and he has now emerged as a doubt for the clash with the Canaries.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 26 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Mohamed Elneny - who remains at Arsenal after proposed moves to Turkey fell through - was substituted after 33 minutes against Brentford in last week's friendly due to a hamstring injury and is confirmed to be missing the next two to three weeks.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Granit Xhaka

Return date: September 26 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Granit Xhaka - who is COVID-positive anyway - will serve the first of a three-game ban this weekend after seeing red in last week's thrashing at the hands of Man City.
