Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's EFL Cup fixture with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal turn their attention to the EFL Cup on the back of a dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Gunners twice fought back as Nicolas Pepe scored his first goal for the club to level the scores, before Calum Chambers equalised a second time with a fine finish and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang capped off the comeback with a late free kick.

The Gunners were reduced to 10 men late in the first half, but managed to overcome the odds and secure a vital three points to move into the top four.

Unai Emery is likely to make several changes and rest some regular starters for the visit of Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the Gunners ahead of Tuesday's game.

Alexandre Lacazette

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October

The French striker continues his scheduled rehabilitation for an injury to his left ankle and is likely to return to action at some point next month.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: September 24 (vs. Nottm Forest)

The right-back played 62 minutes for the Under-23s against Wolverhampton Wanderers and appears to have fully recovered from his knee injury. However, Emery will likely look to build up 24-year-old's fitness before restoring him to the senior squad, and it is unclear how close he is to a first-team return.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: September 24 (vs. Nottm Forest)

Another who has shaken off his injury - a groin issue - and the centre-back played the full 90 minutes against Wolves. His fitness will also be assessed ahead of a potential return to Emery's senior side.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 24 (vs. Nottm Forest)

Arsenal new-boy Tierney played the same number of minutes as Bellerin in the development side and, like the Spaniard and Mavropanos, is back in full training. However, given the left-back's injury layoff was much shorter than Bellerin's, he could make his debut before the right-back makes his return.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Return date: September 30 (vs. Manchester United)

Maitland-Niles was sent off in the first half of Arsenal's dramatic win over Villa for a second bookable offence as he slid in to win the ball.
