How Arsenal could line up against Everton

How Arsenal could line up against Everton

Arsenal welcome Everton to the Emirates Stadium this weekend with the aim of extending their winning run to five matches in all competitions.

The Gunners brushed aside Vorskla Poltava with the minimum of fuss in the Europa League on Thursday evening and now turn their focus back to the Premier League.

Unai Emery made eight changes to his starting lineup for the 4-2 triumph in midweek, and the Spaniard has some big selection calls to make for this second home match in the space of 10 days.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal may line up for Sunday afternoon's showdown.

Out: Sead Kolasinac (knee), Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), Ainsley Maitland-Niles (leg), Carl Jenkinson (ankle), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) Doubtful: Aaron Ramsey (fatigue), Lucas Torreira (knee)

Nacho Monreal, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were the three men to retain their places from the 2-1 win at Newcastle United last weekend, and all three should start again on Sunday.

Aubameyang netted twice against the Ukrainian unknowns, but the return of Alexandre Lacazette - kept on the bench throughout the midweek group tie - will likely mean that the Gabonese striker is shifted to the wing once again.

Emery has looked to keep things the same in that area of the field, but concerns over the fitness of Ramsey - the scorer of six goals against Everton in his last four outings - means that change could be required.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the most likely candidate to come into the attack line alongside Aubameyang and an in-form Mesut Ozil, although Alex Iwobi is another potential option following his lively display when given a start against Vorskla.

Elsewhere, Emery must choose between Petr Cech and Bernd Leno in goal, with the latter conceding two late goals on his debut, while a knock picked up by Torreira will surely mean Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka continuing their partnership in defensive midfield.
