Arsene Wenger slams 'lethargic' Arsenal

Arsene Wenger says that Arsenal were nervous while leading in their 2-2 with Swansea City in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has criticised his side for being lethargic during their draw with Swansea City in the FA Cup.

Having gone behind to a Michu strike, the Gunners turned the game around with goals from Lukas Podolski and Kieran Gibbs, before Danny Graham netted late on to salvage a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

However, Wenger believes that his side were nervous while leading in the match, and should have held on to win the tie.

"They have quality to attack but I hoped we would have enough resources at 2-1. We were a bit nervous at the corner, but it was an exciting game to watch," said Wenger.

"I felt we could have cleared the first ball on the cross. I don't know why we didn't do it. We were guilty for the second goal.

"I feel we have shown quality, heart and character especially in the second half. But it's frustrating to concede a goal in the way we did it. We were very lethargic on the corner. Swansea found the resources to score two goals."

The replay between the two sides takes place on Wednesday, January 16.
