Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of Saturday's football, which sees the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester City all in action.

The main focus this afternoon will be on the fourth round of the FA Cup, with 11 matches kicking off at 3pm, including two all-Premier League clashes.

There is also a huge match in the La Liga title race between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, in-depth coverage of which can be found here, while there are also three games from the Championship.

We will also keep you updated with events from the lower leagues of English football, in addition to action from around Europe.

5.02pmThere have also been big results for Cardiff and Charlton in the Championship today, with the latter cruising to a 4-1 win over relegation rivals Rotherham to give their survival bid a shot in the arm. Over in Spain, there was a big win for Barcelona as they came from behind to beat Atletico 2-1 at the Camp Nou, with Diego Simeone's side finishing the game with just nine men.

5.00pmIt looks as though Shrewsbury have stolen the headlines on the Saturday of the fourth round of the FA Cup, then! They come from behind to score a 98th-minute winner, knocking Sheffield Wednesday out of the competition and making it through to the fifth round. They will be joined there by Arsenal, Manchester City, Leeds, Hull, Crystal Palace, Watford, Blackburn, Bournemouth, Reading and Shrewsbury, with only one draw so far today - that coming between West Brom and Peterborough.

Elsewhere, Charlton now lead Rotherham 3-1, while Chuba Akpom has completed his hat-trick to surely fire Hull into the fifth round.

4.26pmMeanwhile down in League Two, Yeovil's recent mini-revival looks set to continue. They have trailed twice against Wimbledon but now lead the playoff chasers 3-2 courtesy of a hat-trick from Compton. That would be a huge away victory for Yeovil.

4.24pmThere are a couple of surprise results on the way in League One, with the top two both currently losing. Blackpool lead Gillingham 1-0, while Burton trail Rochdale 2-0. Wigan are the team taking advantage at the moment, as they would close the gap on the automatic promotion places if they hold on to a 2-0 lead over 10-man Port Vale.

4.21pmCardiff are on course to close the gap to the playoff places in the Championship having regained the lead against Huddersfield thanks to Lex Immers, who finished off a fine team move from the Bluebirds.

4.05pmIt's been an action-packed 10 minutes or so in the Bundesliga match between Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin, with the visitors taking a 3-1 lead in the 71st minute but being pegged back with two goals in as many minutes. It is now 3-3 with around 10 minutes remaining.

4.03pmWe're getting back underway around the country now, with 45 minutes separating many of these teams from the fifth round of the FA Cup. The second half at the Camp Nou is also underway, with Atletico trailing Barcelona 2-1 with only 10 men too.

4.01pmIn the Championship, meanwhile, Bristol City and Birmingham are still goalless, which is a result that would send Birmingham into the top six and perhaps be a decent point for the hosts at Ashton Gate too. Huddersfield and Cardiff are level at one apiece, while Charlton are leading their relegation battle with Rotherham 2-1.

3.56pmAside from that, though, things are going pretty much as expected. Manchester City appear to be in control with a 2-0 lead against Aston Villa, while Crystal Palace are ahead in the other all-Premier League tie, leading Stoke 1-0. West Brom, Hull, Blackburn, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday are all leading lower-league opposition, while the only goalless game is at the City Ground, where Nottingham Forest are hosting Watford.

3.54pmIt is half time in all of the FA Cup games now, and there could be a couple of shocks brewing. Holders Arsenal have been pegged back by Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, with Vokes cancelling out Chambers's opener, while on the South Coast League Two side Portsmouth are leading Bournemouth.

3.51pmThere has also been a red card in the match at the Camp Nou, with Filipe Luis being sent off for a poor challenge on Messi. Atletico are up against it now - down 2-1 and with only 10 men for the entire second half against Barcelona.

3.49pmDo I smell an upset down on the South Coast?! Portsmouth have taken the lead against Bournemouth right on the stroke of half time and are now on course to knock a side 58 places above them in the English football pyramid out of the FA Cup. Gary Roberts got the goal for the home side to send Fratton Park delirious.

3.32pmPerhaps things won't be all plain sailing for the holders as they have been pegged back by Championship side Burnley at the Emirates courtesy of a powerful header from Sam Vokes. Over in Spain, meanwhile, a bloke by the name of Messi has just levelled things up for Barcelona against Atletico, firing an effort into the bottom corner having been found by Alba.

3.29pmTime to check in on goings-on elsewhere - and there has been an entertaining opening half an hour in the Scottish top flight, with Motherwell leading Dundee 2-1. Hibernian have just taken the lead in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, meanwhile.

3.25pmIheanacho has his second of the afternoon, with this one coming from the penalty spot. Sterling went down in the area to win the spot kick, and Iheanacho converted from 12 yards in audacious fashion. Surely there is no way back for Villa now?

Chambers is the unlikely source of the goal, but he showed no signs of his natural position as a defender when curling a beauty into the corner after patient build-up from the Gunners. Palace have also taken the lead against their Premier League rivals Stoke, with Zaha beating two defenders before slotting the ball past Haugaard.

3.04pmThere could be something of a surprise in the National League, where Gateshead have taken an early lead against high-flying Grimsby.

3.01pmAnd it hasn't taken long for the first of the afternoon to go in. Newport have opened the scoring against Morecambe in the very first minute to give themselves an early boost as they look to climb away from the relegation zone.

3.00pmAnd we're off! Games across the country are beginning to get underway now, so all we have to do is sit back and wait for the goals to start flying in!

2.58pmThere will be action from Leagues One and Two, as well as the National League, also taking place this afternoon, which in Scotland the semi-finals of the League Cup get underway with Hibernian hosting St Johnstone.

2.55pmThere are three games taking place in the Championship this afternoon, and it could be a big day at the bottom with Bristol City, Rotherham and Charlton all in action - the latter two of whom play each other. Birmingham will also be looking to climb into the playoff places, while Cardiff could cut the gap on the top six to just two points.

2.53pmThree of the top five in the Bundesliga are currently in action, including second-place Dortmund, but there are still no goals in any of the five 2.30pm kickoffs from Germany's top flight.

2.51pmMore importantly, they have safely secured their place in the hat for the fifth round. Twenty-two other teams will look to join them at 3pm this afternoon - we're now less than 10 minutes from kickoff!

2.47pmArguably the biggest game of the day does not even come in England, however. La Liga's top two do battle at 3pm, with Barcelona hosting title rivals Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou. 2.45pmDown on the South Coast there is a local derby taking place, and potentially one of the big upsets of the day. Portsmouth, currently in League Two but pushing for a playoff spot this season, host the Premier League's Bournemouth at Fratton Park. It is not often that the fortunes of these two sides would have been so heavily tilted in Bournemouth's favour, so victory for the hosts today would be extra special. 2.44pmThere is another Championship vs. Premier League tussle going on in Nottingham, where Forest will be looking to knock Watford out of the competition. Nacer Chadli scored two and set up another as Spurs cruised to a 4-1 victory, with further goals from Dier and Carroll. Colchester did get on the board, albeit through a Ben Davies own goal, but the League One strugglers were outclassed today.

2.38pmWhere better to finish the team news that with that wonderful array of names from Peterborough? They are one of four lower-league sides who will be looking to oust Premier League opposition this afternoon, not including Colchester, who are just minutes away from having their FA Cup exit confirmed.
