Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has only made the bench for the first leg of his side's Europa League semi-final against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Costa was a surprise inclusion in Diego Simeone's squad for the match after seemingly being ruled out last weekend, but his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained in the quarter-final has enabled him to make the bench on his return to London.

Costa joins fellow former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres amongst the subs as Antoine Griezmann and Kevin Gameiro lead the line for the visitors.

The Spanish outfit have made five changes in all from their last outing in the competition, with Gabi and Vitolo amongst those to drop out and be limited to a place on the bench, while Juanfran is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are able to welcome Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere back into their starting XI after they missed Sunday's win over West Ham United due to injury.

The midfield duo are the only changes to the side from the weekend as Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi drop out, although there is a return to the bench for Petr Cech following a recent minor injury of his own.

Alexandre Lacazette - who scored twice against the Hammers - will lead the line once again in the absence of the ineligible Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsene Wenger takes charge of his final home European match as Arsenal boss.

Arsenal: Ospina; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Welbeck; Lacazette
Subs: Cech, Holding, Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac, CHambers, Iwobi, Nketiah

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Vrsaljko, Gimenez, Godin, Lucas; Correa, Thomas, Saul, Koke; Gameiro, Griezmann
Subs: Werner, Savic, Gabi, Vitolo, Olabe, Torres, Costa
