Arsene Wenger believes that Portugal could surprise a few people at Euro 2012 this summer.

Paulo Bento's side have been written off by many after they were drawn alongside Germany, Holland and Denmark in Group B.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger has insisted that there is enough quality in the Portuguese squad to cause their opposition problems this summer.

"Portugal have the player in Cristiano Ronaldo, but also they have Nani - they have quality players," Wenger told the club's official website.

"They can create a surprise. But because they haven't done well recently in tournaments, you don't have them as one of the favourites."

Portugal's best performance at the tournament saw them reach the final in 2004.
