Arsenal lineup vs. PSG: Predicted XI for Champions League semi-final second leg as Jurrien Timber call made

Partey time and Timber time? Predicted Arsenal XI vs. PSG

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber should be good to go for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

The Dutchman was absent from the weekend's 2-1 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League due to a knock, after which Mikel Arteta admitted that there was a chance he could miss the trip to Paris as well.

However, Arteta does not exactly have a perfect track record when it comes to being honest with team news - especially after a poor result - and as Timber trained on Tuesday, he will surely be given the green light to play.

If so, the former Ajax man can expect to take Ben White's spot in defence, where David Raya, William Saliba, Jakub Kiwior and Myles Lewis-Skelly will all reprise their roles from the 1-0 first-leg defeat, although Riccardo Calafiori might finally be an option again after a knee injury.

One key player who will definitely return to bolster Arteta's ranks is Thomas Partey, who sat on the naughty step in the first leg due to suspension but will no doubt anchor the engine room at the Parc des Princes.

As a result, Declan Rice - scorer of Arsenal's opener at the weekend - will have free rein in the left eight position, while Martin Odegaard ought to be fine to start despite taking a small knock against Bournemouth.

With Partey in the number six role and Rice in the number eight position, Arteta can stick Mikel Merino back up front, most likely at Leandro Trossard's expense as Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka operate out wide.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
