Alejandro Sabella: 'Argentina must cope without Angel di Maria'

Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella urges his team to cope without Angel di Maria against the Netherlands in the World Cup semi-finals.

Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella has called on his side to cope without Angel di Maria during their World Cup semi-final against the Netherlands.

The winger has been ruled out of the match in Sao Paulo tonight after picking up a thigh injury.

While admitting that Di Maria's absence is a blow for Argentina, Sabella wants his team to "adapt to the circumstances".

"I always said Di Maria was extremely important. He brings balance to the side, can perform various different jobs and associates well with (Lionel) Messi," he told FIFA.com.

"He has won the Champions League and all of Europe wants him in their side. We have to adapt to the circumstances and the moment."

The winner of tonight's match between Argentina and the Netherlands will meet Germany in Sunday's final.
