Angel di Maria to miss Argentina's World Cup semi-final

Argentina winger Angel di Maria will miss his side's semi-final clash with the Netherlands due to injury, according to the team doctor.

The 26-year-old sustained a thigh injury in La Celeste's 1-0 win over Belgium in their quarter-final clash, which put his tournament in doubt.

Tests have confirmed that the Real Madrid man will have to miss Argentina's showdown against Louis van Gaal's side, but team doctor Daniel Martinez is unsure whether he would be fit to play in the final if Alejandro Sabella's side get through.

Martinez told reporters: "Angel has a grade one strain. Of course he won't play in Argentina's next game. After that, we'll evaluate the situation day-by-day."

Argentina face the Netherlands on Wednesday.
