Toby Alderweireld "very happy" at Atletico Madrid

Belgian centre-back Toby Alderweireld has revealed that he is looking forward to beginning his career in La Liga with Atletico Madrid.

The 24-year-old, who completed a move from Ajax towards the end of the transfer window, has also claimed that he has been 'received very well' by his teammates.

"I'm very happy, even with the first day proving rather difficult, as I'm looking for a house. But I have been received by the coach and my teammates very well. I'm going to give the best of me for this team and try to positively contribute to results," he told reporters at a press conference.

"With the coach I still haven't spoken much, just the first contacts in the field. I know it will be difficult to get into this team, but I will give my best to play. Moreover, there are many games. I will be ready for when I get my opportunity.

Alderweireld rejected the chance to join Liverpool before signing for the Spanish outfit.
