Half-Time Report: Accrington Stanley cruising past Scunthorpe United

Accrington Stanley have registered a 2-0 half-time lead over Scunthorpe United at the Crown Ground in League Two tonight.

The hosts started marginally the better of both sides and went ahead through Lee Molyneux, who availed of the wet conditions and slid home the opening goal on 18 minutes.

James Beattie's men established daylight in the scoreline on 36 minutes through Peter Murphy, whose effort from the edge of the area looped over Sam Slocombe courtesy of a deflection.

United should have at least halved the deficit minutes before half time, with Dave Syers heading into the arms of Marcus Benthill from close range before smashing into the side-netting from a good position soon after.
