Report: Arsenal plot Ignazio Abate move

Arsenal are reportedly interested in AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate.

The 26-year-old has one year left on his contract at the San Siro and talkSPORT believes that he could be a potential replacement for Bacary Sagna.

However, the Rossoneri are said to be unwilling to part with the Italian international and will offer him a new contract.

Abate, who has won 14 caps for the Azzurri, came through the Milan youth system, making his debut against Sampdoria in 2003.

It is rumoured that he is seeking a move to the Premier League.
