AC Milan have signed Villarreal defender Cristian Zapata on a season-long loan.
Reports in Italy suggest that Milan also have the option of securing the permanent transfer of the former Udinese player at the end of the season.
Zapata has left the Spanish club after they were relegated from La Liga.
He is the third Villarreal player to make the switch to Italy, joining Borja Valero and Gonzalo Rodriguez.
