Urby Emanuelson happy to play defensive role

AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson has insisted that "it would not be a problem" if he were asked to play in defence for the Netherlands.

The 26-year-old generally occupies a wide midfield role for Milan, but he is prepared to switch positions for his national team in search of regular football.

"It would not be a problem for me to play at left-back. Everybody wants to get playing time and so do I," Emanuelson told reporters.

"I'm feeling very well. Things are a bit difficult at Milan, but I have a good feeling about my own performances. I will do my utmost here and we'll see whether I'll get playing time."

Emanuelson has 15 international caps to his name.
