AC Milan director Barbara Berlusconi has confirmed that the club are exploring the possibility of leaving the San Siro in the near future.
Despite playing in the 80,000 capacity stadium since 1926, the club's hierarchy have discussed the need to look at other options as they believe the ground is not modern enough to handle some of their business plans.
"San Siro is a marvellous stadium, where the history and the apex of Milan and Inter was reached, but it isn't enough anymore," Berlusconi told Rai 1.
"Stadiums have to provide different services and infrastructure to be open seven days a week, not just on matchday.
"Now in Italy there are so many difficulties. There's little economic support from the state, the region or the council. Italy's football is a microcosm of what is happening in the country in general, that of a country that does not want to renew itself."
Milan have shared the San Siro with Inter Milan since 1947.
