AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate out for two weeks

AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate is sidelined for at least two weeks with a thigh injury.

AC Milan have confirmed that defender Ignazio Abate will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a thigh injury.

The Italy international was forced to miss Sunday's 3-1 win over Parma in Serie A because of the problem.

Abate has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the club so far this season.

"AC Milan announces that Ignazio Abate is suffering from a muscle injury to the back of the right thigh," the Rossoneri said on their official website. "His condition will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks."

Milan continue their league campaign this Saturday with a trip to champions Juventus.
