However, that lead did not last long as Mainz restored parity in the 65th minute.

Sami Allagui brought down Park Joo-Ho inside the Hertha penalty area, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made no mistake from 12 yards.

The result leaves Mainz seventh in the league table with 38 points from 24 matches, while Hertha are two points behind them in ninth.
