Borussia Monchengladbach ease past Wolfsburg

Juan Arango and Tony Jantschkle goals give Borussia Monchengladbach a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

First-half goals from Juan Arango and Tony Jantschkle gave Borussia Monchengladbach a 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg this evening.

It was the home side that took the lead when former Arsenal defender Haavard Nordtveit provided the assist for Juan Arango to put Monchengladbach in front.

The visitors pressed hard for an equaliser but couldn't find a way through as Diego squandered one of several Wolfsburg chances.

It was Monchengladbach who doubled their lead, as Arango turned provider for Tony Jantschke to add the second just a minute before the break.

Wolfsburg failed to find a response in the second half as the hosts ran out 2-0 winners.

Monchengladbach move up to ninth in the table following the win, while Wolfsburg drop to 14th.
