Wrestler Ramsin Azizsir: 'I wasn't given enough time to recover'

Germany's Ramsin Azizsir says that he did not get long enough to recover between matches in the Greco-Roman wrestling event at the European Games in Baku.

German Greco-Roman wrestler Ramsin Azizsir has complained after being given just 25 minutes between matches in his event at the European Games in Baku.

The 24-year-old caused an upset in his first-round match when he knocked out London 2012 bronze medal winner Damian Janikowski, but was comfortably beaten by Russia's Davit Chakvetadze in his next match.

Ahead of this evening's bronze-medal match, Azizsir told reporters: "I had too little time to recover from wrestling the Polish guy. I only had 25 minutes to prepare for the next fight and it's too short.

"The Russian was good and he also had a short time after his first game, but I think I had a stronger opponent in it. If I'd have more power maybe I'd won."

Azizsir will take on Croatia's Nenad Zugaj later today for the final spot on the podium.
