France's Marion Bartoli admits that she faced a "tough battle" reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon following her win over American Sloane Stephens.

Marion Bartoli has admitted that she had to dig deep to earn her place in the last four at Wimbledon.

The 15th seed overcame American Sloane Stephens in straight sets 6-4 7-5 in the quarter-finals of the competition.

"Obviously the grass is really suiting my game," Bartoli told BBC Sport. "It was a very tough battle."

Bartoli will now face Kirsten Flipkens in the semi-finals on Thursday.
