A number of Sunderland supporters showed their backing to Adam Johnson following his arrest by chanting his name during Tuesday night's match against Hull City.
On Monday, the 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16.
The winger was released on bail after helping Durham police with their inquiries and has been suspended by Sunderland until the conclusion of the police investigation.
Last night, during the Black Cats' 1-1 draw with Hull City at the KC Stadium, a group of away fans sang, "there's only one Adam Johnson".
The player has been ordered to answer bail in two weeks' time.
