World champion Sebastian Vettel leaves it late to claim the pole position ahead of Lewis Hamilton for tomorrow's Abu Dhabi GP.

World champion Sebastian Vettel will begin tomorrow's Abu Dhabi GP on pole position.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton led throughout practice and was even ahead of the chasing park after the second round of qualifying.

However Vettel clocked a pole-clinching time of 1:38.481 on the final lap.

As a result Hamilton will begin the race second on the grid, with teammate Jenson Button third..

Vettel's Red Bull teammate Mark Webber will start in fourth, while Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa take fifth and sixth position respectively.
