Jennings happy to compete for Wrexham place

Wrexham striker Connor Jennings has insisted that he is looking forward to fighting for a spot in the first team at the Racecourse Ground.

Jennings has penned a one-year deal with the Welsh outfit after his release from Scunthorpe United, and despite going up against three teammates for a place in the team against Dartford on August 9, the forward believes that it will keep everyone sharp as the club look to improve on a poor showing last season.

The 22-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Competition keeps everyone on their toes. It gets everyone up for it and I wouldn't say it was a bad thing. I'm looking forward to it now."

Jennings netted 15 goals in 28 games during loan spells with Macclesfield Town and Grimsby Town last season.
