Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers on verge of Raul Jimenez deal

Wolves on verge of Jimenez loan deal?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly edged closer to a loan move for Benfica striker Raul Jimenez.

The 27-year-old has made 120 appearances for the Portuguese giants since his 2015 move from Atletico Madrid, scoring 31 goals and registering 15 assists in that time.

According to The Sun, the Premier League new boys have agreed a deal to pay Benfica £4.5m for Jimenez's services next season, with an option to buy for £30m at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

The report claims that Wolves have taken advantage of their close relationship with agent Jorge Mendes, who in turn has connections with clubs in his native Portugal, to assist them in the deal.

Jimenez has been capped 63 times for Mexico and will be representing his country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
